I'm planning to get the 17:46 train from Witham, so will hopefully see folks there.

My plan is to travel to/from in civvies and change at the velodrome.  I may or may not shower afterwards, depending on how prompt we are finishing and all the bike/helmet/shoe hire return stuffs, and how great a thirst I have built up.

Which brings me neatly to ... post ride refreshments.  For those that inticipate a mighty thirst after two hours on a bike with no bottle cage, the nearest establishments that are suggested by the Good Beer Guide App seem to be:

Tap East which is a 14 minutes walk back in the direction of Stratford station

CRATE brewery and pizzeria which is a 15 minutes walk from the venue

Both of these CLOSE AT 11pm, though, so we'd have to keep post-ride faff to an absolute minimum to get there in time for a couple of Essex recovery drinks.  If we end up in faff-waiting, cat-herding-by-committee mode, I'm likely to "do one" in the direction of Tap East with anyone who is also ready ;D

If it looks like we'll be late for these: The Goose is open till 11:30, but it's further away )in the centre of Stratford, the other side of the station), and doesn't look much like a normal MEMWNS pub (sports, DJs and no mention of real ale) so we'd have to be pretty desperate.

Sounds like a good plan. Bollocks to showering - I only asked as I didn't want to be the only one not bothering! Can't be arsed to lug loads of stuff with me...

BTW, how do we record our time on the track on Strava? (No watches/things in pockets) 'Cos if we don't, nobody will believe it happened  :P
Those wonderful norks are never far from my thoughts, oh yeah!

Yeah Huggy, what have you contributed to tonight's organisation compared to Oaky's in depth survey of the pubs of East London.

I believe you get some sort of print out so you could at least do a manual upload of distance and possibly average speed.  Huggy will probably get the vet to do a Garmin micro chip for him when he takes his new dog in.

I've been to the velodrome (as a spectator) before and noticed a distinct lack of hedges on the route.  This may be a problem for the scent-markers amongst us.

You may find the Tap East is pretty busy as it is a pub frequented by football fans - however it would only be if they happened to be stopping off on their way back from games that it would be busy at that time of night.

As Ted has said it will be manual upload on Strava for the velodrome either by print out or the trainers on the night

I didn't think of that, we went to the vet last night to get the dog all tech'd up

Bobb, he's talking to you.

Talking of hedge markers, I assume Sister Carol is not joining us this evening ?

There is another pub in Westfield, The Cow, which also has real ale (and also closes at 11) so there is a fall-back option.

Theres always the Champagne bar for OD, too.

As per the Tap this may also be busy with football traffic if partaking in a drink after the game....

Will he be able to purchase a malibu and orange?

I shall be sensible tonight and head straight for the train home. I will be riding from Witham so will be travelling in my usual smell so no one sits next to me mode.

After being ill for 2 days and still suffering from a bit of ear infection dizziness I am hoping that I can keep it all together on the track tonight....

It's okay Huggy, Ted didn't actually mean that he was doing it himself more like his secretary! I can't understand why he keeps wanting to take over everything, must me his MEMWNS branded attire going to his head  ::-)

I notice that Huggy went to the trouble of attaching the form to one of the emails. So I've printed it out and filled it in  :)
