I dont mind giving that a go.

Ted, if you are out, would you mind bringing your seat pack for me to have a look at and see if it fits the bike?

Cheers

What about The Monkey at Terling???

That fits the criteria of being not too far from anybody, so gets my vote.

The Monkey !  I thought we were reserving that for the end of July so that our brave LEL riders could have an easy one immediately prior to the big event.

It is about the mid point for Psyclist and myself though so I can live with it to preserve his aching limbs after his latest west country wanderings.

Executive decision coming up ...

... unless anyone is passionate about an alternative venue we will visit The Monkey (aka The Rayleigh Arms) tomorrow evening.

In our experience the food is pretty good in case jibers and tippers fancy another romantic meal for two. I propose the Witham Peloton wings a route, it's not like we don't know the roads, and we can decide on the night whether or not we ascend TMNH.

;) 8pm Jibbers? Just kidding...I am mostly unlikely to make it tomorrow but there is a small chance that my family will be just sick enough of me to release me for a few hours.

I have just been there for lunch.

The chef was off sick so it was a limited menu.

I don't suppose that will bother Jiber as he generally travels with an entourage including his personal chef.

Personal chef?  Pah!

On my 2017 Bike Adventure I discovered it was possible to cook a steak dinner with all the trimmings on a Trangia  :smug:

I'll miss you should I have to dine alone darling....  :'(

I might be in full touring mode, rack is on and I need to give the panniers a whirl to see how the bike handles...

Have a good one tonight.

Going to the Angel and Harp - I've just got back this morning from looking after our Americans, and we have to celebrate Soupy's latest part-time-temp job in the media: starts tomorrow

I will be at The Monkey,  but probably not riding with the peloton.  (I might be waiting in for a delivery of timber, and in any case,  I'm still recovering from my ankle injury and so won't be going too far or up any big hills tonight).

I will be there with sample luggage for the Lord Jiber.

Hoping to be at Spa but list of work to do says it might be more like a quick ride and head straight there.

Seeing as I've been stood up on date night, I'll be there after eating at home, so sometime around 9PM or just before...

You need to be meeting a better class of man off the interweb. I would be more than happy to give you the benefit of my extensive experience in this field (not forgetting parks).
