It seems the Sun at Feering is pretty much equidistant from my offshore lair, Tomsk Towers, Serial Killer Hall and Amsterdam FM studios so Tomsk, the Essex Strangler and Joergen should have no problems getting there either.

The only problem is we have been there so often of late.

If tomsk and the strangler could confirm whether they are happy with the Swan or would prefer the Sun, that would settle it.

I know, it's like trying to herd cats. The Swan is good, JEM will come too, otherwise you'll have to put up with me, unleashed!

Strangler, how about coming over to mine about 7:30 and we can pace each other to The Swan?

……or The Swan. I see what you are trying to do. Two accessible pubs for me on consecutive weeks…..you are tempting me down the rabbit hole of Weds pub nights……next you’ll have me cycling to western venues on an icy Feb night!

You might be on your own on an icy night in Feb, I'm a penguin and that's too extreme for me. Brrr!

Time for a non-executive decision - we are going to the Swan at Totham and sitting indoors.

Strangler, it is 20 miles home for you and you are a seasoned randonneur, you will be fine and it's far closer than the SH is for Fandango and me.  If it tempts JenM and the better bit of Jemango out, so much the better.

Ok, we'll keep the Butlins pub for a night when more of the westerners can make it. The Swan at Totham it is, for a unified Mid-Essex gathering.

No worries I’ll meet up another time. As Jason said the other week “twice in a year”  maybe I should rest up  :)

It wasn't a target just a metric, we could make a stretch target for you however...

I'll give The Swan a go too, hopefully :)

I'm hoping to get out as the Swan is an easy (all downhill) ride... ;D ;D

The Queen's Head at Maldon Hythe was mentioned last week.

Otherwise, I am happy with a magic triangle or EER venue depending on who is out.

Changing the subject a little... I have just dropped a PM out to everyone who has expressed an interest in the bivvy / camping mini adventure at chief's this Friday night.  If you haven't received a PM please let me know.

It should be a smashing affair, we've had a drop out so could fit one or two latecomers in, contact me in you fancy it.

I have a full-on day booked for Thursday, so unless there's a nearby-ish western venue, I'm out. And looking forward to Friday too, btw.

I fancy somewhere I can test ride the camping packing to... Maldon might be a winner... or dare I suggest Cats ?

I was just typing a question as to whether you or the Old Man of the Sea were out.

Queens Head would be good, Maltsters possibly or the Cats at a push.

You choose me old DJ mate.

Bike secure would be the main priority so that rules out Maltsters I think - so QH? (Boreham?)

:-* Thanks, but go ahead with Maldon - I think nothing further afield than the Spiritual Home would suit me tonight.
