It was a little chilly.  The roads were well gritted which was just as well. as my winter bike had suffered a visitation so I was on summer tyres.

Next Wednesday marks the 8th anniversary of Fandango's finest moment - his debut arrival at the Oddie - and also my rather more low key first MEMWNS.

Its half term week  ;D ;D ;D so I'm out, happy for anywhere really, but if east I'll probably drive.

Is there enough of us for a western split ?

It’s half term week, the sprog is away skiing with the school, so I am out

with the Mrs (at least that’s the plan) and will be keeping well away from all possible MEMW venues!

I'vw got a management meeting the following day which rules out such exotic places as Colchester however I could be up for the Lion or similar as a Western venue?

In theory I’m available. Which Lion?

Assuming I don’t bail at the last minute, my latest bad habit, I’m happy to go East.

Chelmsford is fine if Mr No Knees is worried about his management meeting.

I'm OK with Chelmo.

High Roding (on the basis that you were all going to Colchester)

Oh OK, I don't fancy going that far west.  Chelmo would be ideal.

Just the 120km round trip then.

Something more Eastern would be good.

Edit: If there's a split, I'm happy with the Swan.

Chelmo, Swan LT I don't mind.  I just need to do where not to go at the last minute  ::-)

Although ice won't be an issue this Wednesday and the Grumpy Ex-teenager who caused the previous week's last minute abandonment is away so perhaps I will make it out

I'm potentially out and about this week, also due to half term - it's only been about 4 years since my last MEMWNS visit

High Roding sounds good to me if there’s going to be a western venue.

The Layer Fox is due an EER visit if that option is approved

p.s. High Roding is not a winter option for me from the COG

Consulting a learned source … https://www.acronymfinder.com/COG.html … I’ve filtered the abbreviation down to 3 options:

 - Component Obsolescence Group
 - Crazy Old Guy
 - Cranky Old Git

 - Component Obsolescence Group

All of which are perfectly reasonable solutions to the acronym referenced for the target contingent, however, there is a fourth meaning which was in fact intended:
Centre of Gravity (COG) of MEMWNS members
That used to be very conveniently close to the NW corner of Shitham but may have drifted slightly westwards in recent times. The Keeper of the COG may be along with an updated pin to indicate the current location.
