Today we managed to clip not one, but four of Ninkasi's claws. This is unheard of! There was rejoicing.

I have no doubt Luna is preparing a nasty surprise for when I get home on the basis that I didn't leave a window open for her to access outside.

Never tried cutting our monsters' claws. Job for the vet on their annual checkup. That said, given the amount of wear that they get gouging our oak worktops, those claws are not normally a problem

They’re always scratching stuff. At 4 am the other morning, Bad Cat caught a residual hint of swimming pool chlorine on my exposed calf. Grabbed it with eight claws and sank her teeth right in. Shower better after the pool, ian.

Skulking in the woods somewhere. We’ve no idea why, but along with a healthy suspicion of strangers, she hates the sound of aluminium ladders. My wife always gets a warning the window cleaners are about to arrive, as the cat bolts before they arrive. Today, I had to go up into the loft, and again there’s an aluminium loft ladder - and she shot off the sofa and down the garden.

He's sleeping.

Unlike last night, where he woke me 3 bloody times, asking to go out.
2am - he found a hedgehog and stood barking at it until I yanked him back in.
3am (just as I'd got to sleep) Peed as I stood over him.
4am I locked him in my office.

Unfortunately, I had to get up at 5 am because visitor and MrsC were leaving for the morning ferry. So I've had sweet fa sleep.

Eating crumpets.
MrsC had left a pack of crumpets on the worktop. When she found them again, the pack was on the floor, one of the crumpets seemed to be complete, two were nibbled round the edge and the last wasn't there at all. Nor was the cat (although he did come later when called).

being cosy. I had cause tp look for a pillow suitable for a makeshift "chimney sheep", and found one such (actually 2) in an old dry cleaners duvet bag. Having removed it, I left the other on the floor in our back (bed)room. Phoebe found it....

Catticus, please learn that shrews are not good to eat. Eating a shrew simply results in you projectile vomiting a half-digested shrew (plus whatever else you have eaten since) in a highly inappropriate place. Come on, you should have realised the effect by now - I'm sure it can't be pleasant. It certainly isn't pleasant for me, as the family seem to have decided that I am chief clearer-upper. Mouse guts I can deal with, cat vomit, no.

I'm listening to "Fed" on R4 and they have just had a person talking over the background of chicken chicks tweeting away. Luna suddenly woke up, ears pricked and looking at the speakers trying t work out where this prey was.

I think that my initial thought that Louis was named after King Louis VI of France is erroneous and his moniker is in fact short for “Lucifer”.
