Indeed, GWveryS.

One of my best friends had her handbag stolen out of her car while she was driving it (the car, not the handbag*) yesterday!  I thought stuff like that only happened in the movies!  Classic distraction method "can you tell me how to get to so-and-so" while someone else reached in the other side!   >:(

The only good point is that at least she's not one to have lots of credit cards, she's a cash sorta gal.

*though actually, it's about the size of a good handbag...

That's a good thing?  Cards can be cancelled, cash is gone...

It is a good things cos she wasn't carrying much...cards are a PITA to get cancelled and replaced, but as she doesn't really use them, she's not missing them.

Still grotty but hopefully improving slowly.  Back to GP tomorrow to chase up scan and ask for drugs and possibly bloods (if they can extract it from me).

Bloody kids.

I've blagged free tickets for me and the boy to go to one of the Heineken Cup rugby matches this weekend. Phoned him to let him know, thinking he'd be delighted, but his response was decidedly lukewarm. OK, so it's not a match involving the team he supports, and it's not quite as big a deal as seeing his team play at Wembley a couple of months ago, but I thought he'd be a little bit more excited than he appears to be. Doesn't know he's born, I tell you.

I suspect the problem is that it interferes with plans he's already made to hang around in town with girls.  ::-)

You see, that's why I liked those old fasioned big heavy screens.  I could punch them in frustration. [1]  Really used to hurt, which stopped me from doing it again for at least an hour, but at least it felt sort of good to do.

[1]  They were also good for drying out wet mits.

First wife, way back in the early 80's, was really superstitious and it has actually started to pass on to me in recent times! Over 20 years since the Divorce and I now get edgy about Friday the 13th and other stuff. I know everyday is unlucky for somebody or other but Why is this day and date so worrying?

The temptation to make a suggestion about Dyno Rod is tempered by the desire not to incur the wrath of the lovely but fiery Kirst....

And apropos friday 13th, it is a crunch day for us, and I've just made unreasonable demands on our reprographics section, which will have repercussions, and this after spending best part of an hour standing outside various council homes with a thermal imaging camera in the dark at zero degrees Celsius....  Its going to be quite a day...

“Cyclists” of Stafford.

I know I have moaned about this before but PLEASE GET SOME LIGHTS!

Just had to return home to change my undies after almost hitting one of you morons. You were completely invisible on a unlit road at 7am. Why, if you are cycling without lights, are you also wearing dark clothing? Sometimes, I just wonder if Darwin was right. What are you doing being alive still?

Please give me a chance of seeing you. Lights can be brought for £6 in Tescos (come on, they need the sales!!!). Isn’t your life worth £6????

I think (may be wrong), that Friday is generally thought of as a bad day because of it being the day Jesus was crucified. add in the unlucky 13 (which I think is also a Jesus+disciples thing, if you count Judas), and it's a double whammy...

Thanks for that.  It does interest me that it is also thought to be unlucky in Furrin lands, Netherlands is mentioned in the wiki' thing.  I had thought of the 13th Dude at the Last Supper as many people claim a positive thing of there being 12 disciples.
