As we have now bunged them a load more money maybe they will get the opportunity to finish it  ;D

Ted's got a good point there I would hate to see some of my top draw bait wasted  :o as it's produced some great catches!

We could apply a quality filter to all of your posts and then Huggy might have the 200th page instead.

And then if we also applied that to your posts he would likely reduce down to the 50th page  :P

Page 150 for me, but that might be my settings...

Viper & Three Elms sound very convenient for me! :D  I may even bring out the CdF for its inaugural MEMWNS ride :)

From memory, the last time I did Viper - Three Elms (via Chequers Inn @ Roxwell ), its a bit tricky to get a route to Three Elms without retracing it on the way back unless you head up Roxwell Road to Easter's and then back down... makes for a longer ride though... Also - whilst the road surface is good from Ivy Barns towards Viper, it gets worse once you come round the left hander with the gravel driveway on the right.  Probably fine with the fatter tyres of the CdF, but quite unpleasant on 25mm/Carbon frame.

My usual route to the Viper would be through Stock/ Ingatestone / Fryenning but that would be more miles for you guys?  You could go Watchhouse Rd/London Hill / Swan Lane (if you fancied more climbing) or Danbury /Bicknacre / Hanningfields

Less pleasant route running in to Ingatestone via Stock Lane: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/10394090

More Pleasant alternative would be to turn left and head in to Ingatestone via Buttsbury & Padhams Green Rd. (includes a ford for those wanting a paddle...) (about 3 miles extra but less traffic and nicer lane)

Regards,

Joergen

Witham Peloton route using the nicer lanes comes out at about 46miles...

Garmin Edge was sent off to its new owner yesterday.

I now have an Etrex 30, primarily for its man overboard feature.

Now if I could just work out how to work the actual device never mind the MOB feature....

Best place to start is forget everything you thought you knew about how to use a Garmin Edge XXXX and start again with your etrex 30  8)

Thanks chaps.

The screen etc is familiar as it is based on the Garmin handheld and static marine and outdoors devices of which I have had several.

The problem is that I have never bothered to go beyond basic functionality as I like to use charts when I am sailing and maps when I am walking.

So far, I have managed to download an OSM map of the UK and the relevant tiles for a certain part of western France but making them appear on the actual device or following a route has so far proved beyond me.  Once I have mastered that I will attempt to post a route for a Wednesday night without using Garmin Connect - Huggy, Huggy help !
