Angel & Harp, Churchend

I'm hoping to get out Wednesday afternoon to check the REM 100km route [got to mail the riders by the end of the week], so in the evening I'll just wheel him down the hill for 21:00 - we'll be doing our Lou and Andy routine  ;D

I think it would be incredibly rude not to!

Starting tomorrow morning my week goes into overdrive so route planning could be a problem.  Would someone else like to sort a route for the Witham peloton?

Train home from Braintree?

Yes!  I don't think I've ever been on the Braintree branch line.

Saweet....so Flitch way on the return leg to Braintree then a train home.....Wonder how the Tubeless tyres would do on the Flitch Way?

This all of course on the idea that I might actually be able to get out....and not drink.

Trains at: 2256 and 2345hrs.  2345 would be the best bet I reckon.

I reckon it would be quicker to cycle home from Braintree than use the train!  Is there a Top Gear stylee challenge here?!

I won't be out tonight as I'm not feeling great and taking the day off work.

Please give my best to Dan.

Not sure I'll be out either tonight, certainly not a-wheel until the leg heals up properly.  I think I am being dragged out somewhere to celebrate another year closer to death...  ::-)

I plan to be at the A&H tonight.  Bicycle powered in both directions.

I have unfinished business with a bar stool there.

For the sake of publishing a route, here is a route, the FW return to Braintree is optional if we're not going to be doing a TG challenge.
I have a particular reason for passing through Hartford End  :-X

Worth also bearing in mind that part of the FW is currently closed due to an unsafe bridge so I think you're forced onto a road diversion - not sure exactly where along the Flitch this is I'm afraid!

Thanks DL.
Looks like it's the Fenton's Road bridge just west of Rayne, right in the middle of the FW route planned.  Can't see an obvious diversion that would make using the FW a worthwhile fun route.  Maybe back to a more traditional direct blast home from the pub!

The Friends of Flitch Way site does note:

Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists should be able to navigate the steps along side the bridge but bridle traffic will need to follow the diverted route.

But as I am reasonably unlikely to be along due to this cursed project causing me long hours I will leave it all up to you folks.
