Looks like I can escape that London on Wednesday and head for Essex after the 18.30 train watershed. I would be useless at the freewheel challenge as a) I'm not very heavy (at least that's what I would like to think) b) I'm a very timid descender who likes to get full value out of brakes and c) I might be riding a bike with a coaster brake which could go badly wrong! However I reckon I could be a good impartial (unless bribed with beer) recorder of achievement.  Do I get the job?

I suggest we aim to meet at the bottom on TMNH at 8pm for a quick brief and then take it from there.  Does sound OK folks?

I will make a supreme effort to make it for 8pm, might well be a bit late - see you all at the top? [I'll come my direct way from Dunmow thru Chelmo to Danbury].

I have the bike with me. I am intending on getting a Hatfield Peveral stopping train and meeting y'all at the bottom of the lump! I'm going for the lightweight option with the Trek although I left the 28's on there...looking forward to the laughs!

I shall be on the squeaky lean green mean machine that got up to speed scary going down TMNH on Sunday morning before throwing the anchor out to avoid being a grill adornment for the double decker bus  ;D

I shall have panniers containing beer and kit for our official which includes protective head gear. You can't be too careful you know.

I'm still wondering if I will be able to take the corners on and off the bridge without braking  ;D

I'm still wondering why we let OD talk us into this stuff

I will probably be on my new wheels for extra aero advantage.  Anyone waiting for wheels should know I picked them up yesterday and they had an order date of 3rd March.

Where are we going afterwards ?

How is this evening's epic endeavour any dafter than cycling from London to Edinburgh and back pretty much non-stop? ;D

Hang on, that's half way back up a hill we will already have come down.

Bollocks....I completely forgot about the fact we have to get up the hill my whole focus was on coming down. I would consider employing the team car to shuttle us up but last time I took a lift to the top of a hill just to ride down, it did not end well #karma

Yeah, it's a shame Huggy's not organising this event.  He would have laid on a shuttle van to take bikes and riders to the top each time.  OD will expect us to ride up.

The Team Van is not in use this evening for anyone that wishes to take the wheel, I shan't due to feeling the need for a few alcoholic beverages. I know, not very team spirited of me but that's not stopping some other altruistic person doing the motorised ascents as Ted suggests.

You didn't mention any of these things in the rules that you forgot to set.

But that would stand in the way of making it up as I go along.
