At the risk of violating the "no forward planning" rule, chief suggested Walnut Tree @ Broad's Green and Rose and Crown @ Gt. Waltham for this coming Wednesday.

Any takers?

Witham route a bit like this except that we'll go straight on at the RAB through Little Waltham via the cycle path.
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

I am planning to be out to play on Wednesday.....I notice a completely gratuitous NH is included in the route, assuming the double refreshment stop is to refuel accordingly!!
Never knowingly underfed on an Audax

Given past experience of the Walnut Tree and R&C combo we can be assured of a quiet school night evening out

Certainly!

Planning to be at the Walnut Tree @ Broad's Green for a few and then on to the Rose and Crown @ Gt. Waltham (I assume chief will be there since he suggested the venues).

Good show! Any time at Broads Green? I/we will probably do some sort of 'training' loop to take advantage of the daylight.

I should bg good for a 7:15 set off from Witham (Jack and Jenny as usual).  Probably 8:30ish at the Walnut Tree depending on how many times NH is ascended.

Any idea how I can remove an image of Huggy dressed in a nurse's uniform from my brain?

A lengthy visit to The Walnut Tree should cure it

One for the children, MEMWNS meerkat is watching you.

Cracking night out - Old Skipper and Morland in the Walnut Tree (Bounds Green has a very loud peacock that sits right on the top of one of the chimney pots of a house over the green from the pub and shouts loudly!).

Retired to the Rose and Crown at Gt Waltham at about 10:30 and stayed there until 12:30.  Got home at 1:30.

chief did a cracking job with the trophy which included carbon fibre, titanium, shimano components, a cable tie, pebbles from California beach and a meercat (of course!).

Well deserved Tomsk!  Please could we have a better picture of the award, it looks like the meerkat is stood next to a car radio!

this is the best I can do.

We have a black carbon fibre wall upon which is a titanium plaque and two jockeywheels.

The handwritten sign is there because you can't engrave titanium apparently......duh

The Trophy is in pride of place on the Tomsk Towers mantlepiece, until Mrs Tomsk finally expresses her thinly disguised contempt and it has to go to the holy of holies [the bike shed] along with assorted AUK & PBP medals, route arrows and frame numbers. I'm looking in my extensive 'spares' collection for a suitable discarded bit of bike to add to the masterpiece.
I'm really touched to be the first recipient of this award and I'd like to thank my directeur sportif, therapist, the manufacturers of Sudocrem etc. Well done Chief

Richly deserved Tomsk old chap.  It was very good of you to get so many ladies from your book club harem along for our Christmas do last December.  They were very engaging!
