I’ve just turned on the TV to watch the coverage and I landed straight into the shiteverts. I wonder what the probability of doing that is?

I didn't actually know so I had to Google it...

Dear God. Why did I click on that? I would have been better off staying in the dark.

Dear Le Tour tv producer, re showing the breakaway group two or three times (once in slow motion) as it goes through the intermediate sprint does not make it any more exciting. Especially when they trundle through line astern.

Quite high!

I'm watching on proper telly today and it seems to have a completely different set of ads to watching online. If anything, they're even worse on the telly.

They’ve got the Viking Cruises one right now.  Even the presence of penguins in it does not make up for the voiceover's accent, which is from the posh end of Ganymede.

Eh? It’s protective packing for a banana, what’s the problem? Have you never taken a banana on a bike ride and found it’s got a bit bruised when you want to eat it?

And while we’re on about the jerseys, that Green jersey is shit at standing out, in fact it seems to be a stealth jersey

I for one like this early action, just hope that week three doesn't become the old week one.

A stonking day that just got better and better as they started to climb that last hill. It’s not usual to see the GC contenders in the mix so early though is it. They’ll all be knackered by the middle of next week if they keep this up.

Yes, we agreed. It looks like it's been washed by MrsH.

The Usual Suspects in the ITV4 colemantary Sheds concur about the green jersey.  Though the SD picture on their coverage is either worse than usual or my rheumy eyes are getting worse.  Can't type on an iPad while wearing my distance glasses chiz.

Just watched stage 2. Great start. Wonderful finish today - that was how I got 2 of my 3 RR wins way back when I was younger and faster (I was only a 2nd cat, never managed the same trick as a 1st cat)

Why does Wout wear a different helmet to his team mates?

WvA probably should have been in a position to take the stage, with a little more help...

RAMON SINKELDAM loses it..

He is philosophical..

Quote
I had new shoes for the Tour. You want to test it with the new cleats, that is not possible then. I now ride with grey shoes, unfortunately."

"Little things like that. Your toiletry bag, your braces at night. Those kinds of things,” Sinkeldam concludes. “Basically, they have to find that suitcase and send it on. But we flew with Vueling which is in principle not the party that does its best. It's very annoying, but I hope it will end up in the next few days!"

I share his pain about the shoes. My grey shoes are not my favourites.

I had a pair of grey shoes once. I cringe at the very thought, even though I was only 19 or so.

In the 80s I had several pairs of grey shoes. Well, trainers to be more precise. And they started off white.
