Is anyone planning a DIY from the east side of Sheffield?

Otherwise I'm off for Gainsborough, Louth, Horncastle, Market Rasen and home. Main roads and dull but will get the job done in winter with minimal ice related falling off.

Who's for a 600 in January 2011?

Rough idea of the route ?

Dunno yet. Probably Norfolk/Lincolnshire bound to pick up Marcus.
Perhaps test out MattC's 600 from Goring to Lincolnshire and back?
We'll tailor the route as much as we can to make it easier for people to ride.

TG: probably up for it (or at least part of it depending on where it starts - i live near lincolnshire ie between newark and gainsborough)
as long as my new frame has arrived and been built up by then but i'm sure it will be (it better be)

Accommodation available in Suffolk if you come this way. I'm not riding 600 in January though, that's just mad.
Unless you're going to Somewhere Hot, obviously.

that would be very kind. We now have a draft routesheet! Available to anyone willing to test-ride (some of) it.

No info controls, so fully DIY-compatible (not sure how 24h _all_ the controls are, should be ATMs at minimum )

Has never ridden RAAM

SWF, curvy brunette, 5'3", NS, GSOH seeks tall1 wide1 dark2 handsome2 man2 for DIY/perm action during the weekend of the 18/19th December. South/East/Midlands, especially fairly flattish bits preferred.

Weather permitting, obviously. Last year ice stopped play and I suspect the same may be true this year. It's this or a DIY to Edinburgh from Northumberland on the 31st...

Not really speed dating, given Audax time limits.

Obviously I've been doing this all wrong.

Fat middle aged man, smoking alcoholic, seeks nubile 22 year old (blonde, brunnette, redhead, I'm not that fussy) to ride unfeasably hilly 200k route in the depths of winter. Kiss of life may be required at 158k.

PS the real reason for this post - TG, I've done some stupid things in my life but your January 600 is attracting me more than a Ferrero Rocher. How many have you got interested?

In Audax it's got to be distance dating, so 1200km is really needed; time to up grade the ride distance of this Jan DIY me thinks.

Am tall, of moderate width, with a rustic complexion, passable appearance and male. On the boab scale of companionship I rate myself as a 3.25.

My bits aren't that flatish but I haven't yet found myself in a Shakira quandry.

Mike K and Marcus so far. Mike K was thinking of doing an ECE with the Willy Warmer. It'd be a good way of breaking the ride down. Ride 100k to the start, ride the 200k event, then another 100k ish, then some sleep and finish the ride off on Sunday.

I'm doing it as a 300 from home. Room to stop at mine before if needed as well.

If you fancy riding down to Chalfont St Peter for the Willy Warmer but aren't up for an ECE, or simply want to avoid an uber early morning start you are welcome to sleep over at the community centre on Friday night, and perhaps join me in the White Hart for a night cap and to toast the intrepid souls who will soon be starting their ECE rides.
