Great Barrow Challenge (not audax...but similar)

Rather than approve a new member account request just so this could be advertised, I though I'd post a link myself:

The Great Barrow Challenge | Cycle The Great Barrow Challenge | Great Barrow Challenge

500 imperial miles (see...I told you it wasn't audax) in 4 days and you can camp if you're hard enough.  In East Anglia, so maybe flattish.

You get a medal if you do it.
Hard work sometimes pays off in the end, but laziness ALWAYS pays off NOW.

No mandatory helmets
It is simpler than it looks.

Good

More intriguing is this, in the rules:

I wonder if they have conversation police dotted about the routes ?

I was going to say the time limit seemed pretty relaxed, but in fact you're only allowed 44 hours on the road.  May actually be quite tough for the full value end of the Audax crowd.  I'm trying to work out how confident I am about riding an 11 hour 200 on the last day, and coming up with "not very"...
Half term's when the traffic becomes mysteriously less bad for a week.

 ;D

For that reason, I'm out!
It is simpler than it looks.

Looking at the event you do not need to do thee full course each day the ar shorter options. What I can't find are dates! Do you just get a calendar and add the days from the count down clock...

According to the event poster, 21-24 September.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

Didn't check poster... I'm working on the 24th September so no go but it looks like a good few days riding and isn't silly Sportive money.

looks like great fun, very similar to my end to end schedule, with fewer hills and without a constant headwind!

If I wasnt on holiday that week, I'd be in...

Is it four different 125 mile routes?

I hope so.

Riding round the same route four days on the bounce is gonna be tedious.

Does it clash with the Beccles duck race?
No. The duck race is on Sept 11th. Thank goodness for that.

This setup favours the swift, I'd rather do an 800 in Audax times - 60 hours for the whole 800km including sleeping, eating etc.
If I felt more confident about bing able to churn out 11-hour 200s I'd probably like it though.

Not this time - but maybe a great Longbarrow on the Barrow challenge?
