Ok, last night rather than right now.
Jam Roly Poly Pale Ale. Saw it in the local supermarket, and thought I had to give it a go. Flavoured with strawberry, plum and custard. It was on offer. I know why now, despite normally liking a fruity beer.

Sadly (?) I missed out on the original release of this - apparently it's back by popular demand - back in 2020 it was released as a two course meal, with roast potato and yorkshire pudding flavoured brown ale as the main course.

Brandy and soda.

During the pandemic, I listened to a lot of very old radio dramas. Often, older types of drink would be mentioned. Oscar Wilde's bright young things drinking hock & seltzer; Paul Temple ("By Timothy, you're right!") and his wife - Steve - drinking gin & ginger ale, and elderly, jowly-voiced retired-brigadier types, orf at their clubs. "I shall be in the smoking room; I should like a large brandy & soda..."

And, as I drove about Yorkshire, listening to this stuff, I'd find myself wondering if brandy & soda (with no ice - this was England in the 50s) would be any good.

I was not disappointed.

Arrived at my mother in laws earlier this afternoon, first time here in a while

A forage to the garage revealed a pleasant haul - a Lindemans Oude Gueuze, a Flotzinger dopplebock and a couple of Schneider Weisse Tap 5s.

All left by me from last time!

I started of with a sample of my latest brew on bottling day as it was not quite enough for a 500ml bottle. Then a pint of 5.6% liquorice stout. Which I've now just finished so decision time...

Missing Link beer, as we bought a big pile of the stuff the other weekend. Very nice tap room and cheerful staff if you're ever Sussex way. Sussex is even too wussy for bears, so you're safe outside.
