I have just realised that the "new" button on this thread left me about 5 pages off the pace. I must drop in more often.

I think I am due to grace you lot with my presence, and I think my Wednesdays/Thursdays are about to become rather freer than they have ben for the past 8 months or so. I shall keep my eye on the board for a pleasant spring evening potter in the not too distant future.

I should be around, subject to checking with mrs_o.  Not sure what the situation is Re: start times though.

Ok, no worries, let me know.

I should be able to set off by 19:30... Meet up at Peg Millars?

We must do some forward planning for a Sarfend-friendly venue......

A Facebook post from Joss at The Compasses, Littlely Green ...

Quote
Hi everyone, bad news I'm afraid, a bicycle was stolen from the bike shed today between 2pm and 4pm. It was locked up but the lock was cut. We have no leads at the moment, but please be careful if you bring your bike to the pub, and if you see anyone acting at all suspiciously near the bike shed please come and inform us straight away. Together I hope we can prevent future problems. Cheers, joss.

I have asked Joss for a description of the stolen bike so we can keep our eyes peeled.  I have never been too security conscious when leaving my bike outside The Compasses but clearly that needs to change - big shame  :'(

Really good ride last night.  The pub was excellent and something of a revelation - a nice GBG pub   If your visit to the bar coincided with one of the barman's frequent trips outside for a fag you simply waited  ;D

Not far from the pub we also rode through a large and billowing fog of marijuana smoke.  We couldn't work out its source.

What about Billericay?  There are 2 GBG pubs there, the Blue Boar (Wetherspoons) and the Coach & Horses.

If the Southend crew were unavailable perhaps we could try the Dog Inn (GBG) in Halstead.

Shall I bring my G&YF brevet with me or is it easier to stick it in the post?

Bring it along on Weds  though I won't get the results online until all the cards are in. On past experience it can take well over a week..... ::-)

Brevet heading for Magic Bag Lite TM

Via the medium of Short Messages I have alerted Del and Wow to the prospect of Billericay.  Not heard back yet.  Perhaps the interweb has been switched off south of the Crouch.
