Thanks chaps.

The screen etc is familiar as it is based on the Garmin handheld and static marine and outdoors devices of which I have had several.

The problem is that I have never bothered to go beyond basic functionality as I like to use charts when I am sailing and maps when I am walking.

So far, I have managed to download an OSM map of the UK and the relevant tiles for a certain part of western France but making them appear on the actual device or following a route has so far proved beyond me.  Once I have mastered that I will attempt to post a route for a Wednesday night without using Garmin Connect - Huggy, Huggy help !

Lord help us we have already had unaccessible links, one way streets the wrong way and unrideable COR and that was from Garmin Connect.......   :-\  :'(

Absolutely!! Particularly if you're tucked up in bed in West Mersea laughing at your fellow comrades that are trying to negotiate a locked gate to partake in some COR action on 700 x 23c tyres  :demon:

Did you notice that I missed the one way bits last week as well  O:-)

If you are worried about a bit of COR then bring your own bike out instead of that rental thing.

Yes OD stopped and noted it all down in his little book of big ideas....! So you are duly black listed now

I may have to revert back to the Brompton to give you an opportunity to keep up  ;D I noticed you were lagging behind a bit last Weds  not sure if that was down to the Hornet or my 'go faster' MADCC clobber

Suits me it's always difficult trying to hear what people are saying behind you with the wind rushing past your ears whilst travelling at speed....! Probably explains the smell  :-*

I would suggest you need to download BaseCamp to devise routes you can then load them onto your E30.

That would currently be beyond my capabilities on gps.

By the end of the week, who knows.

It's been a while since you did much on the route side of things, apart from moaning about other people's efforts that is.

Has the standard that Huggy and I are setting just got too high for you ?

Looks like someone is stuck in cloud cuckoo land!

Granted (pardon the pun) Huggy does produce some fantastic routes of which I never have any trouble following, yours - when we can access them - however are not really at a desired standard when you look at the track record of locked gates and numerous one way streets the wrong way.........  ::-)

That's all part of the adventure.

You've been on some lovely seaside trips this summer.

Queens Head at Tolleshunt Darcy

Alehouse - properly not just because Tippers can only walk 500 yds at a time without a pint :P

The Chapel Coggeshall

The Greenman - Bradwell on Sea

The Green Man would be a bit of an expedition but it's a nice pub on a summer afternoon.

I was supposed to be racing there (by boat) on Sunday.

There a few like that which would be worth thinking about.

??? don't tell us your route plotting had you racing around to Merseyside so you never made it

More of an expedition for you than us I would say...

It's easy by boat, I can see it.

There is the Alma at Harwich (OD went there a few weeks ago).

The Green Man at Bradwell.

There must be a pub at Shoeburyness

The Bristol Arms at Shotley

The Old Ferry Boat at Felixstowe Ferry

Ramsholt Arms on the Deben

Jolly Sailor at Orford.

I've been to most by boat but not by bike.

An irregular weekend series ?
