I have an appointment in Chelmsford at 18:20, so I'm not going to get home in time for a trek to HBO.  :-\ If there was a splinter group planning to be somewhere nearer to Witham,  I could join that...

Aythorpe Roding not HBO. Only 30km from Witham.

I'll be there. Another easy ride home, this is getting to be a habit  ;D

I'll do some sort of loopy route to the Axe and Compasses at Aythorpe Roding, avoiding the Roding valley itself, which seems to flood at the slightest drop of rain.

I think I had my tea at the pub - not sure if I will be doing the same tonight or not...

ETA: If I am not dining at the pub then I'll prolly take this route... https://ridewithgps.com/routes/27159395

Let me know what time you’ll be there if you plan to be earlier than 9, as this week I’m working at home so could get there earlier.

I'm unlikely to be out to play this week due to being in That London all day  :'(

Does that mean you could be tempted by a splinter group with Oaky and me or does it mean that you are just not out ?

A closer to home splinter group could be tempting, maybe one that sets off from Witham a bit later than usual and I can be home before Thursday

I'm aiming for 20:00ish in order to eat there.... I'll head out via the RWGPS route I posted upthread, probably leaving circa 18:30

I’m reckoning on setting off about 7:45  and going out via Terling for just over an hour’s ride to Gt Totham Compasses

I'll try and hook up with you somewhere on the way between Witham and Terling then.

To the FORWARD PLANNING chappie...

Please can I put in a vote for the Sun at Feering?  They looked after us very well one Epiphany and TCMR and I often have Sunday lunch there, today being an example, it was yummy.  In my humble opinion it is a smashing pub.
