I have an appointment in Chelmsford at 18:20, so I'm not going to get home in time for a trek to HBO.  If there was a splinter group planning to be somewhere nearer to Witham,  I could join that...

I'll do some sort of loopy route to the Axe and Compasses at Aythorpe Roding, avoiding the Roding valley itself, which seems to flood at the slightest drop of rain.

Please can I put in a vote for the Sun at Feering?  They looked after us very well one Epiphany and TCMR and I often have Sunday lunch there, today being an example, it was yummy.  In my humble opinion it is a smashing pub.

They have a beer festival which we attended last year and it was fab.. suggest we align for that again??
