Well that was a cracking night, though I was a bit worse for wear this morning, must have been the larger!
You all did well to skip the GK pub next door, vinegar beer which has a best before date on the barrel of 2nd Jan - so apparently it was OK! Swapped for an IPA which was OK... OD and I then put the world to rights before the lights were turned off on us to kick us out of the pub... suffice to say, that venue wont feature on the Wednesday night list!

Great to see everyone, Thanks for organising OD.
Regards,

Joergen

As the forecast for Wednesday is wet n'windy all day and into the evening, are there any objections to moving to Thursday at the Spiritual Home instead?

We're planning on riding the Boudicca 100km group perm on Thursday now.

Not sure yet if I’m around for the group perm, but can make the SH on Thursday evening

It's pub quiz night on Wed at SH?

I was going to head back to Essex for Wed, but if the weather is dire, I might not bother and just hop further up North...

I'll be along around 20:30, post-audax. Not eating chez Compasses though as we cracked on and finished early to beat the expected rain - and the wind was behind us at last.

I can confirm the rain was lurking to the west of Buntingford. Glad to hear it didn’t catch you up.

Waiting for Saturday - got a bit of bike prep to do, also entertaining friends tomorrow, so need to think through catering for another feast.

We are all putting the Christmas bling and lights on for Epiphany aren't we?

Yes, and someone will need to wear the musky pelt of destiny, I’ll bring it to spoons. Any volunteers?

Too cold tonight? (Yes, I've been out for a ride this morning and there was ice about, here and there ...)

Unless Thursday really is the new Wednesday now, OD?

I’m not ready to run the “Thursday is the new Wednesday” flag up the flagpole just yet so please proceed accordingly!

I should be up for that, even if it's a relatively direct route on winterised BBB.

Possibly up for the Swan - we'll see how the wintryness goes ... the Marathon Winters are on already if necessary.

Edit: But - anyone up for a western venue?

Rethinking my enthusiasm for riding Wednesday evening given the forecast sub-zero at launch time only to get lower for the return trip. Going soft in old age :-\
