I suspect I'll be containing this burst of cinematic optimism with Alien: Covenant next weekend.
I'm a bit concerned by the fact that the professional critics have been embargoed and they're using public tweets to promote the film. That never bodes well.
Yeah, I noticed that. Some bloke from Braintree reckons 'it was better than
Prometheus.' Well, it couldn't be worse. That'd be like doing a more poo-ier poo. Browner and even more aromatic.
The trailers make it look like a scene-for-scene remake of
Alien.
Oh it might be good, they did two good Alien films and the rest were mostly forgettable dross.
Prometheus looked pretty on the big screen but you had to balance that with the fact that it was entirely filled with stupid.
I walked past Sigourney Weaver last year and failed to notice until my wife kicked me, by which time Sigourney had gone around the corner. I think that if I had a kid I'd call it Sigourney. Or Muffintop. I'm undecided.
