More usually, when there's an outbreak of decent weather, the locals flock to the roads around Cannon Hill Park to circle and hoot, before eventually finding somewhere to pavement-park.
"I was looking for somewhere to park" is probably a common excuse when caught kerb-crawling on Cheddar Road.

Cheddar Road isn't what it used to be.

I believe Basil has form for getting distracted there...

Guilty as charged.  ;D
Well, they did put an NCN route along it!

For course creation, or viewing an as-ridder / run GPX, Ye Olde BikeHike is still out there, and has free OS mapping alongside OSM-based mapping.
It will go to 1:25000 if you zoom in on the OS pane.

https://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php

The option 'Toggle Map Sizes' will make the OS pane the bigger of the two.
(There's a bug where if you use 'Load Route' to upload a GPX to see where you went, it fails if the OS map is embiggened. Revert to having the OSM map embiggened first.)

Lennart on Strava: "Cycling for 12 hours with another participant earned him a time penalty. His girlfriend, who cycled with him in every corner of the Netherlands, led to the DSQ. Shortly after I asked if she was also staying at the hotel in Groningen where he slept, he left the group chat..."

I've got Job's race report (pdf, in Dutch), can e-mail it if you want.

Ooh. Yes please.

I rode the Monaro Highway during the first Sydney-Melbourne Alpine 1200. That was before Mike Hall was killed. I was there during the morning rush hour and it felt very, very hostile. No driver was backing off even a touch, regardless of what vehicle was coming the other way and how much of the lane was clear. I never want to ride it again.

My sister-in-law had seven guitars on her wall when I last visited and counted.

I don’t know if she ever plays any of them now.

Sounds like a lot of cars in Cannon Hill park should have been ticketed nice and hard, or even towed away. No sympathy at all. Everyone knows there's no driving in there except for wardens at 5mph.

One of the things I HATE about Birmingham, entitled motons.

I have a miniature of Hennessey cognac, a freebie from doing the distillery tour in 1982.  Wonder if it’s worth anything :demon:
