get_iplayer is still working? I kinda assumed the Beeb had killed it off, but I haven't checked for a few years.

[I can ~~spend~~ waste a lot of time just listening to legal BBC podcast downloads, but obviously that has limits ... ]

Yes, I downloaded the JLH programme yesterday. I think it contains the first actual footage of Blind Owl and The Bear I've seen

Documentary on Ginger Baker, "Beware of Mr Baker" on BBC 4 last night and presumably on iPlayer. Interesting life. Great drummer but it seems not a nice man. It was made in 2012 by the way.

Saw that last time round, or possibly the time before that. Definitely a miserable git of the first order but not a bad skin-basher. I had the privet hedge of seeing him in action while he was in Hawkwind (where he managed to fall out with mild-mannered bassist Harvey Bainbridge).

The usual good-natured silliness. I didn't quite warm to the 'contestants' as much as in Taskmasters 1-7, but they'll probably grow on me over time. And I still found most of it very funny.

Anyone seen the Sky Atlantic/HBO 'Chernobyl'? I suppose you'll need Dingovision but it might be around on one of the streaming services.

First episode was Tuesday last. The only actor I've recognised is Paul Ritter, who plays the guy in charge of the 'safety test'. If you ever want to see a masterclass in portraying denial, this is it.

Chilling. In fact I'd go so far as to say horrifying. Required viewing.

Third (and final) series of Mum started last night. Anyone who hasn't seen the first two series should catch up on iPlayer. I can't sum up its appeal any better than this review, which gets it absolutely spot on for me (caveat - it's a bit spoilery):

Also, for those who didn't see the Patrick Melrose mini-series last year, it's blindingly good telly, and well deserving of the two baftas it picked up this week. Unfortunate that it went a bit under the radar through being on Sky One rather than network telly, but well worth making the effort to seek out. I loved the books, and the TV adaptation actually does them justice - a rare feat indeed.
