Likewise, it's always sad to loose a small furry friend. That's a good age for a cat though, and those fine photos suggest that it was a well spent time.

My Kiri has a novel method of cleaning her ears out, she asks the dog to do it for her

This is Bea, proving that smell is tertiary to sight and hearing for a cat. She knew there was some smoked salmon nearby, but couldn't find it for ages.

My parents old cat lost her sight with old age, and she coped with it fine, so long as you didn't move the furniture.

One Christmas, one chair that she favoured sleeping on, had been moved exactly it's width sideways, and Cindy wandered into the room, brushed up against the leg to check that she was by the chair, and then jumped up, only to fall flat on her face! It was quite amusing, even if the poor cat probably didn't understand what had happened.

She is amazing, she will walk through a room - straight through. Then, if you are in the way, she will walk through the room, at the same speed, but walk round you.

Doesn't help her find the smoked salmon though.
