Is Blitz wearing a bandana?
I can't say I've ever seen a domestic cat "in the wild" wearing one. There are plenty of shots, which look like they're staged, with cats wearing them, but not generally when they're just wandering about.
You can get collars (with the standard safety-release) with a bandana attached. Tim says our cats don't needs them.
It does seem like it would just be an increased cost. I reckoned Talisker's average lifetime for a collar was around six weeks. With both Kai and Zev it was a lot longer, but recently their loss rate has gone up. I'm currently out of spare collars, and need to stock up.
I generally buy retroflective and/or luminous collars costing £2 to £3 each, and just treat them as disposable. The current record for loss was a new collar put on after breakfast, and gone by the time Kai turned up for supper.
Wiggins does look cute, but a bit blurry. Is there an appropriate description for kittens, in the same way that all babies look like Winston Churchill? (as pointed out by a colleague about her new daughter, so it's not just me!) To me they often look a bit shocked, and tend to have big ears and head, compared to the rest of them (but I suspect big heads are a trait retained by most mammals).
