I'm not taking it too well.  Sorry.

Oh Noodley - I'm so sorry to hear the sad news  :(

Since we lost Monty, I've been a stranger to this thread for a while.  I just popped in to post a pic of the Pikes' cats Emmie and Ethel, who are staying with us at the moment.  They've been making it awfully clear where they feel the most comfortable having a snooze:

I'm wondering how long it'll take me to run out of tears...that's over 7 hours now.   :'(

He was so young and such a character....it's so unfair.

Apologies for my sharing my grief.  :-[  I appreciate all your replies.

Oh Noodley, that's just awful. Poor little cat. That seems so desperately unfair.

That's really rotten Noodley, but obviously you did the right thing, and he certainly had a good time whilst he was with you. :(
Actually, it is rocket science.

Noodley,

We're all so sorry - horrid thing to happen at the festive time - or any time for that matter.

Try to remember the good things about him and cuddle the remaining ones - LOTS

We're thinking about you all.

It was surely the kindest way.  We had a young cat (Jack) that caught FIP in his 1st year but the vet's didn't diagnose it soon enough and the poor creature kept having fits.  It's a dreadful thing to see a cat suffering a fit and we'd much rather he'd been spared the ordeal.

His half-brother, Vinnie,

is still alive and well despite having been hit by a car over 6 years ago.

I got a new lens for chrimbo, so finally I have something with a big enough aperture to cope with black cats indoors, with no flash, and therefore no 'hypno-eyes'.
*happy dance* :D

Sorry to hear the news Noodly.  :'(

They look nice and settled. And how thoughtful of Emmie to preserve your bedding by sitting her moulty white arse on your black clothing instead.  ;D

Thanks Noodley.  Charlie has had his birthday treat of turkey and ham.  He's now very happy and fast asleep!

Missing him terribly.

But accepting that he is gone.  The kindness shown here and on Cycle Chat has helped me.

Thanks again.

Aye,  been through it ourselves a few times, but never with such a young beautiful boy as yours.  Ours are mostly old codgers from various rescue charities (Dee Carrick from Siamese Rescue and Cats Protection).

You're not alone and it never gets any easier.

Ours are mostly old codgers from various rescue charities (Dee Carrick from Siamese Rescue and Cats Protection).

We had just about got over Rosie's death from a few month's ago when she was killed on the road, and I was thinking we should get another Siamese as it is the first time me and Mrs Noodley have not had a Siamese in all the time we have been together.  But Mrs Noodley was still not ready for another one.

There are a couple of Siamese looking for rescue homes, but this has thrown us big time.  Mrs Noodley has declared "no more pets" such is the pain....

He was so young.  Our previous Siamese had been with us for years (Booboo was 12 when he died and Hamish was 16) and to have 2 friends taken away in such a short time is really hard. We still have Ollie and Jock and they are much loved....

The young ones get you in a different way to the old ones. With the old ones you miss the seasoned campaigner, the mumbling purr-snore, the comforting chat by the fire, the routine and the slightly crusty eyes. With the young ones you lose the spark in the eye, the flash of a sharp claw and the wide eyed innocence.
It is simpler than it looks.
