Depends! Yes, if not too far west.
Leather Bottle viable for a visit now?
Could maybe push it to Axe & Compasses or Black Lion if I can manage an earlier than usual launch time.

Black Lion has appeal, however I have to be up early in the morning to drive to Brigg, so might be a flying visit for some tea and a beer...

Black Lion is an "interesting" ride with the floods.

Would be ok if you go via Bishop's Green.

Yep - that's my preferred route in too - though it can be a bit wet just as you turn off on to the lane there too, but not as flooded as it gets on the cycle route 50 lane.

I was on many of those lanes in the Rodings on Sunday morning, with the Chelmo CTC - some minor flooding but nothing to serious. Owen and the Stort Valley crew passed us near High Roding - we were delayed by a visitation to the group's flint-magnet. (He's had one find it's target every time I've been out with them this year!)

In the true tradition of suggesting a venue and not turning up....I have just discovered a sidewall nick with inner tube poking thru which I don't fancy trusting to riding 60km this evening, so I am unfortunately out and not out out to play

I am sorry, I have had a severe attack of CBA and I just feel absolutely wrung out, so I am staying home. Shame as its a perfect night weather wise to be out on the bike.

Sorry - not out, this one is too far for me at the moment.  It took 2 days for the hands to recover last week, and that was only 20km

So ... tomorrow: reasonably mild overnight and no rain in the forecast. Anyone interested?

Central-ish & Jan-friendly?

Here's a few suggestions;

Cricketers, Danbury
Cross keys, Hatfield Peverel
Queens Head, Boreham
Hoop, Stock
Wheatsheaf, Writtle

I haven't been through the park for a while so not sure how passable the cycle path is up to Writtle, but there are main road alternatives which work OK too.  Might take the Brompton out for a spin if I get time at dinnertime to look see..

Park very flooded, avoid if coming in from East.

alternatives, Chelmsford Rd or Lawford Lane /Roxwell Rd past the Old Chelmsfordians ground..

Would you like me to bring a laptop so you can spend more time behind the keyboard, in a pub??
