Thanks - The hub does have an unused ethernet port BUT whilst the solution is interesting it's overkill for what I need - other than in one small area the WiFi strength is great, that's where the BT disc did the job.
Back to the original question - will the simple unit in the OP work?

In my opinion, you're better off going to a specialist bike fitter before buying a bike, and getting their advice on the bike/size/setup before spending money. The only counter to that is if you are looking at the inexpensive secondhand market and the bike fit would be a high percentage of the total cost.
