Garmin 800 keeps autopausing
« on: 19 May, 2016, 04:38:14 pm »
Had a nice 58km on the clock when I stopped at the docs to sort out a prescription, when I came out the Garmin 800 would not restart, kept going onto autopause.  Pressed stop/start a few times, eventually turned it off completely, but when I turned it back on it did the same.

Had a good view of the sky and was showing full GPS bars.

Any clue as to why this happened?

Are you using a speed/cadence sensor? If that stops working, it could cause it to pause.

Or just disable autopause.

I am, maybe the batteries dying on that, or it got nudged, but I would have thought it should take speed from GPS?

It has been a long time since I had my Garmin Edge 800 (now have an Garmin Edge 810) but I do recall having this problem. There was a fix for, simple one at that. Google has lots of posts on the topic. Maybe worth having a look.
