eTrex 20x / System Requirements.

Not too literate with computers......
My Mac will not support my Garmin, software too old.
My son, on his laptop, with Connect downloaded  loads my routes which I plan on my Mac on RidewithGPS.
Just log in on his pc and load to eTrex.

In the market for a new Laptop (would love a Macbook but too pricey).
It seems a Chromebook won't cut it
Garmin say Windows XP and up.

Any recommendations? 4gb memory, don't need a top end graphics card.....etc etc.

Which software on your Mac is too old? What does it say when you try and start software ?

Have you tried installing Basecamp for Mac?

Can you not just open the eTrex 20x as a portable drive and copy your file to /GPS/Nav? That's what I do with my eTrex 20, much easier than faffing with Basecamp.
