This is on a bridlepath by Wick Rocks quarry, just east of Bristol.

One of those occasions when I wish I'd had a camera with me, rather than just a phone.

South London is criss-crossed with high level railways, and there is a wide variety of bridges.  For some reason, near Herne Hill, there are some more decorative ones.  The first here is on Hunts Slip Road, but is weak, so is narrowed, and one parapet is fenced off.

Leaning through the bars:

As I was starting to take photos, a troop of prep school boys in PE kit emerged from a field, and filed across the bridge.  I was standing there with my camera, waiting for them as they took ages to go by.  Seemed like hundred of them. :-\

Next one's on Turney Road, round the corner from the Velodrome:

As you can see, the light was already going, but I did what I could.  I would have had a better angle on it, but there are trees both sides, and the best viewpoint was in the middle of the road.  As you may know, there are a lot of schools round there, and there were lots of mummies in their wankpanzers... :-\

The monogram seems to read AC.  I'm not sure of the significance.

Last of all (light was really going now, and my phone camera isn't very sensitive) is on Rosendale Road, approaching Brockwell Park:

I would question the level of satanic influence in the stone arch bridge on top of the natural bridge...

Deano, is it really all as brown as that?  It looks like huge spoil tips from a quarry.  Excellent pictures!

And how come you're able to treat us to so many glorious pictures of footbridges while still travelling at such a rate? Are you doing some sort of cyclocross manic footpath tour of the world (or wherever it is you're heading for)?

He can't fool us - he's doing it Bear Grylls style, travelling in a 4x4 and sleeping in posh hotels, just getting on the bike for the camera ;)

I'm fairly sure I already posted one of those.

Anyone got a Wheatstone?  :)

Do you mean an accordion?

(Serving suggestion. Intended to amaze people that he invented that as well)

Dean, you're just showing off, now!

How do we get across the bridge?  I know, we'll build a bridge across it.  It's all a bit "High Level"!

I think I may, once more, have to permit myself a Charlotte-esque *little moment*

This is still the best thread on the interwebs ever.

The Si-o Seah Bridge is amazing. Deano is in bridge heaven!

This one is near Stanton Drew, better known for its stone circles, but this is also marked as an "antiquity" on the OS map. There is some kind of plaque above the left arch, but I couldn't read it and you can hardly see it in this photo, which, I'm sorry, is rather blurry - phone pic in fading light.

Deano these latest lots are brilliant.

I love the way their arches are different from ours.
