We dodged a bullet there. With relatives, Christmas lunch will be tomorrow as that's when children plus partners can attend. Today's lunch was salad and cheeses; so there was a wail of anguish this morning when my son discovered that one of the cheeses we had brought with us was covered by this notice. We were looking forward to that one.

I’ve just checked my mother’s larder. A big piece of Lancashire in there as well.  The warning appears to apply to both Kirkhams & Mrs Kirkhams.

There seems to be a lot of food recalls atm. Is it the weather?

Absolutely horrendous for a business though, their most famous product being recalled at the busiest time of year for luxury food purchases.

https://www.mrskirkhamscheese.co.uk/general-5   Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese is back on Sale

"Over 40 samples  cheese & Milk made by Kirkham’s over a full a five-month time period have been tested since the investigation began and none showed evidence of the outbreak strain of the suspect pathogen.
The family are grateful to the officers from their local council, the FSA’s incident investigation team, and the representatives from government agencies including the Animal and Plan Health Agency (APHA) who have worked alongside them during the investigation.  "
