(Gah, talk about cutting it fine...they've just ::-) announced opening dates for Imber - so...)

If you're not doing The French Ride, and fancy a bit of ruff...get those studs and sequins out ;D
I'd offer you some moral support - but I have questionable morals.

Yes - gives chance for a route check on Sat: they’re being very restrictive about opening periods again - anybody’d think they don’t want people in their playpen...

Tempted.  Saw the road rising up the hill from Warminster whilst riding Le Tour de Chevaux Blancs on Friday and it brought back fond memories of a windy day a couple of years ago.  Need to check if it is the exact clash with GCSE and A level result announcements.

http://www.britchcombefarm.co.uk/

is the nearest, and I know plenty of people have used it without problems. I've used the tearoom :)

GMaps shows other within rideable distance, but to be honest I've never heard of them!

Thanks for that, I'll look into logistics now.

Looking at this and whether or not I can do it, as I seem to every year... It's about 2000m climbing, correct? I should be match fit post Ride London 2 weekends before and on the Fratello Disc with 32mm tyres...

Nothing if you agree to take all her clothes, shoes, handbags and the dog too...

Ah, another year, another crop of freshmeat, and people who should know better, having done it before  :P

AWOL: 3 - I hope they weren't "BOOMED".

Bit of a manic w/e, as due to only having two days for access the world and his Bus Co. wanted to go to Imber.

Can't say the "new improved" infills of 3-4" rocks through the first 2Km of SPTA turnpike improved things much, but it did go back to hardpack/bedded-in stones eventually.

Sorry (not really) about stealing all the good weather yesterday 8)

Sure there'll be tales of daring-do from those who participated.

Subject to SPTA TPTB, back again next year.

About 1200m.

G'wan. G'wan G'wan...

Per stage!

Great event although was cursing Pat  30 minutes in for tempting fate with his "you will not get rained on" comment during the briefing.

I felt a little underbiked on 28mm GP4000s in certain sections but got through without any visits from the puncture fairy. Chatted with a couple of guys with 650b wheeled gravel bikes which seem the ideal tool for this ride - one did have a puncture on the rocky section though!

Imber was very busy - it was interesting to see but I do not think I would travel far to see it. Surely they could not all be descendants of the original residents.

Thanks to Pat (and helper) for putting on a great event and supplying some great nosh at Arrivee.
