This is a new brevet -

Quote
207km cycling event starting from Honeybourne, nr Evesham. Controls at Barnt Green, Honeybourne HQ and Banbury, plus 5 information controls.

A new Event that replaces the Four Leaf Clover. Still a loop course but only two this time. The 1st loop takes you into the Lickys with a control at Barnt Green. The 2nd goes across the north Cotswolds to Banbury.

There is catering at the start, middle and end at the event HQ. There is entry on the day, but the only way to guarantee a brevet card is by entering prior to the event ether online or by post. Instant verification is now available.

Looking around on google it looks like there is plenty of affordable accommodation close by the night before, and the train services back to Reading go on until very late, even though it's a Sunday.

See some of you there!

Looking forward to riding this tomorrow. Weather looks a bit warm but not as hot as last month's RRTY ride (A Rough Diamond).

The interim controls look good too  ;D

Just going to do the 100k (Barnt Green Bash) tomorrow which I think is the first half of your route.  Looks to be a cracking new event though and looking forward to it.

Well done to the organisers and volunteers it was a great day out. On the way home now totally cream crackered

Nice day out, but was very unimpressed with the cafe in Barnt Green at 50 km.  30 minutes queuing, then another 10 minutes waiting for a milkshake, just to get a receipt!  And being a Sunday, there was nowhere else that could provide proof of passage

I normally wouldn't even stop before 100 km or so, so this was doubly frustrating.

It's not at all uncommon... whenever there is another option, I tend to avoid cafes during Audax rides...

To be fair there was a Tesco express literally next door (hidden by a hedge) which I got some snacks in that would have done as good a job.

If only I'd seen that!

Yes, I think the organiser got a lot more entries than what he was originally expecting and the Barnt Green cafe control were not able to deal with the extra numbers.  I noticed the Tesco Express and got a receipt from there.  Lovely route though, just a little too hot for me and thankfully only entered (and completed) the 100k.

I hadn't realised one of the climbs, Dover's Hill, is a national Hill climbing championship course.

My other half and I were tempted to call it a day at the end of the first loop, and were wishing we had by the time we got to Banbury

Too hot for those horrid Cotswold climbs!
