For anyone reading this wondering why not .. simple answer we took 1650 entries to start with .. so that there was no admin needed  on swopping riders, just the part entry fee  refund for those pulling out by 31st May  ..

 So we need 150 to pull out .. with no swops allowed. Getting close to target.

I think some people think there might still be a way to get an entry because of the invite only fast group and some of those people tweeting recently about getting a "late entry" to LEL sorted out.

For those who are unsure, if you're not an ex-pro or current known ultra rider [think TCR, TAW, TABR, TD, RAAM, etc or fast previous LEL/PBP/etc finisher] then you're probably not the kind of person that will be invited to the invite only fast group.

There's a secret, hush-hush method, known only to a very few, of gaining a guaranteed entry. Keep it quiet, though.

All you need to do is volunteer on LEL this time and next time - hey presto! - you have a guaranteed place. You might choose to not take it up, but it's there if you need it.

there is a slight risk on this .. maybe Danial will not be the boss man for 2021.. but do not panic yet .. I know he is already thinking about a bigger  and better event .. and I have a feeling it might even be longer !!!   London John o Groats London does have  a certain ring to it.

The system that former volunteers have a guaranteed start next time was already in place from the first moment when LEL ran the risk of being oversubscribed, it's part of the event's tradition.
