Title: New event : Leicester Triangle - Sunday 23 September
Post by: Steve Orchard on 11 July, 2018, 11:01:21 am
A new 216km event starting from LFCC headquarters at Haynes Road, Leicester. Controls at Wymondham, Bosworth Battlefield Centre and Brixworth, plus 2 information controls.

The route follows quiet lanes across the crinkly, wooded countryside of East Leicestershire and Rutland to the first control just north of Wymondham.  Heading back to the west the terrain becomes gently rolling and descends to cross the Wreake and Soar flood plains before climbing over ancient Charnwood Forest en-route to the second control near Market Bosworth. The countryside opens out as the ride threads between the reservoirs of Northamptonshire with some roller coaster climbs and descents on well-surfaced larger (but quiet) roads just before the final control at Brixworth. The return to Leicester passes through the smaller villages and country estates to the west of Market Harborough.
Drinks, snacks, toilets, parking (nearby), and a friendly Leicester Forest welcome at the start/finish.
