After declaring I am going to take a year off...sod it, I'm in.  Onna Brompton.  If my mate is riding he had better so some training.

If I do (doubtful) it'll be on the Wilier with a tiny saddlepack, faster (get to the beach for the sunrise) and no self-inflicted Audax "must complete ride" pressure.

Might do. It's much later in the month, so earlier sunset, later sunrise, will be well after the end of term so no Monday teaching to consider. I fancy taking a tent and carrying on up the East Anglian coast for a few days. At least that will get rid of the worst bit of the ride, i.e. having to get to a (probably) distant station and battle with a load of other cyclists for space in the guard's van.

Most likely.

47 miles in. Alex has a busted Look cleat. Anyone got a spare?

It's a bit late now, I know - but I usually carry a used but serviceable spare one of these on long rides.

Pencilled in.

Next year I will definitely supply all my own food.  I also think mixing up a full bottle of gin for the G&Ts was a bit much - next year I'll only do half.

...but said he'd be there for 2011!

I'm normally abroad on my hols but, in case I'm not, someone remind me what this ride is all about again.

After waving you all off from London Fields with a heavy heart, and then waking up on Sunday morning realising that I would rather be on my bike than in my bed, I clearly either need to get a better bed, or do the Dun Run next year.

Judging by some of the comments about food, I should probably start baking now to make sure I have enough. How long does cake keep for?

A whole night's cycling related silliness. Think Glastonbury - Stonehenge but twice as far and without the tanks or badgers.

I thought the G:T ratio was spot-on.  If it's the overall quantity that that produced that's the problem then I'd have happily helped you out with more of it if I'd had the foresight to bring a cup. :)

Next year, I'm doing it on a bike with panniers, and bringing a trangia + food + alcohol.  There's even a reasonable chance tht Mrs. O might do it too (family babysitting options permitting).
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

Of course I'll be there.

For a cyclist living in the south of England (and many who don't), the annual pilgramage to Dunwich is the most magical night of the year.

It's a challenge, a party, an adventure and a clan gathering.  Come as you are or wear your best party frock, it's all good.

Whilst I'm unlikely to go light and ride like the wind (camping stove and bringing your own food FTW) I may just ride it on a slightly more conventional machine next year...
