Commuting in today, I was on the centre line passing the perpetual queue of motons found passing through town of a morning, and heading down a slight hill. From the right, I clocked a mother + pushchair crossing the road on a collision course with hood up and paying no attention to the world around her.
I braked to try and stop, but my rear Stelvio let go of the road and I was unable to lose the speed quickly enough. In the end, I had to shout at her and swerve, missing contact by a few cm.
In hindsight, not the best example of my ability to anticipate, but she wasn't doing herself any favours either. I should probably have stopped to make sure she was OK, but at the time chose not to.
