Title: should I or shouldn't I?
Post by: Paulapops on 18 July, 2008, 08:50:42 pm
A friend wants to sell his Trice XL -  I'm tempted... really tempted
But I haven't got any storage room  :'(
What do you reckon, should I just go for it and squeeze it in somewhere?
Bearing in mind I've never ridden a bent before (well..I've had a go for a few yards!)

Besides - if you're having problems finding somewhere to put it, I can look after it for you  :D

When I brought my trike, I'd never ridden a bent or a trike before. I didn't have any space either, so now it lives outside the office under a waterproof motorcycle cover and secured pretty darn well.

Don't regret a single moment of it. Well actually I do, whenever I have to deal with Challenge but you should be ok there.

Trices take up little room!

The seat quickly detaches, and stored upright it takes up little room

You can easily find space!

It's the right forum to ask if you want to buy a bike.
You'll never get a "no don't buy it".  ;D ;D

The current ones do, but the older, non-foldable ones are a bit less divisible.  Getting the seat off my XXL is a fairly major operation involving considerable swearing and standing on one's head.

My Significant Other got hers a week ago and is also afflicted with Trike Lurve  ;D

And it's still living in the kitchen (she likes sitting on it even when it's not going anywhere).

Agreed Mr L, this one has already had me swearing upside-down.  It's now intact and sideways in the shed whenever I'm not on it, doubles up as a deckchair when I get the urge to fettle

My apologies....

My original Trice had 4 jubilee clips and these easily undid allowing the seat removal, so did my two later versions.

I had assumed that the XL was the same.

No worried Cunobelin,
the fun of riding it more than makes up for storage issues  ;D

Excellent - I hope you have as much fun as I did on mine!

My first Trice is almost unrecognizble when compared with the newer ones..

After 14 years and several modifications, I had virtually a Trice Classic

However bout eighteen months ago, I looked at other brands as the Trice range did not have  26" rear wheel  - I fell in love with my present trike,  Catrike Expedition:
