How to save an entire website offline? Firefox
« on: 03 November, 2021, 08:37:11 am »
I have a site of approx 200 pages with Wordpress as its CMS. It has a site map page. I'd like to save the copy, images and links to a folder on my local machine as a set of linked txt files and jpegs. I don't need the source code generated by Wordpress, just my content. I am using Firefox browser. Anyone have a tool or a browser extension for this type of job?

I'd like a tool that follows links to other pages within the domain and recreates the page hierarchy (rather than me having to copy/paste each page URL and then recreate the file hierarchy manually).

I'd rather not subscribe to a web service for this.

My google fu has failed me, my searches turning up out-of-date recommendations for extensions that are no longer supported.

+1 Easier to use than wget.
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

wget examples on stack exchange.

If you would like to DM me the website, I can work out the parameters needed or even send you an archive copy of the site.

Thank you all. Job done using HTTrack. I chose his tool mainly because it was available with a graphic interface and it was in the Ubuntu repository. The Windows95-style control panel makes me smile.
