Pippin is missing
« on: 04 June, 2008, 09:54:56 pm »
Last seen around 10 this morning.
Might not seem long to owners of catsabouttown, but it's a very long time for my little stay at home body.
 :(

Boo used to manage 4 days sometimes - she was being bullied by Sassy.

When we got our current cats Lunar and Roxy we were warned that Lunar had run off before from his old house. Despite our best efforts he slipped out on the third day, ran off and we didn't see him for 5 months. He had been living with an old lady about 500m away, who saw our poster in the pet shop and rang us up. We got him back and he has barely strayed far since.

If Pippin stays missing for a couple of days, poster and leaflet the area and don't give up.

Tali would definitely stay out longer in the summer than in less clement times of the year, so she may just have found somewhere that has good pickings, ie small furry and feathered things which go crunch when caught, and got engrossed in it.  Even cats must have occasions when they get too involved in what they're doing!
Actually, it is rocket science.

Posters will get done tomorrow. We've already walked the surrounding streets. 14 years old is late for suddenly deciding to be staying out all day and all night!
Mojo disappeared for 3 or 4 days a few years ago, we reckon he got shut in somewhere.

Crisis averted! She's just appeared, the little dirty stop out.
I don't know where she's been but she smells pretty strong and she's just had a massive drink!
Happiness is restored, the little minx!  :-*

Will there be lots of little Pippins soon?  ::-)
This isn't just a thousand to one shot. This is a professional blood sport. It can happen to you. And it can happen again.

Good news - never nice when they don't come back like that.
It is simpler than it looks.

No! She is a kitty of good virtue (i.e. she doesnae have the equipment anymore).

... but she smells pretty strong ...

Of what?  Where has she been?
She smelled strongly mouldy so I suspect she might have been stuck in someone's shed.

Probably locked in someone garage or shed. When i accidentally locked Peggotty in the garage all day she was filthy and firsty when I eventually let her out.
