Novel ways of canine attention-seeking.

The dog has taken to dropping his ball neatly on my desk when I am sitting at the computer.

Sometimes he climbs half onto my lap and places it very carefully on the keyboard. Slime!

OK. Here's the non dog lover's response.  (Hopefully, this will be ballenced by further dog lovers replies.)

Have you tried hitting the dog repeatedly with a baseball bat?
Admission.  I'm actually not that fussed about cake.

my cat used to do that with his toys.  Then sit there and wait for me to throw them for him to fetch...

His huge black and white farm cat - one of the mutant strains found on farms that hunt and kill the super size rats - took to prodding me like a piece of bedding at the same time as oh so gentley attemting to slip its claws under my skin
