It's fine from here.

But the way these things work is that there is a bunch of front-end servers that users hit.
They all connect to a back-end database.

If you happen to hit a sickly front-end server, than it won't work for you, but it will for others.
It will be fixed in due course.

https://www.wikimediastatus.net/  suggests it's okay.  Possibly some sort of routing problem?  What sort of errors are people seeing?  It's working fine for me.

It's only loading about half the time. Either very ill, or being DDOSed.

Did a bit of research and it seems to affect BT (and sub brands like Plusnet) broadband users only.  It's ok on EE 4G (which is also BT owned now, but presumably not yet buggered up by them).

So the workaround on a phone is to switch off WiFi, assuming you have a huge unused data allowance like most people.

BT have form for this sort of thing.
For instance Flickr won't work if you try to log in to it using a BT email address.
It's the one reason that I have a gmail account, in addition to my BT account.

ETA - It was the people from Flickr's helpline that told me that the problem is not with them but it is with BT, and that BT are aware of the problem but cannot be arsed to do anything about it.

It does indeed seem that someone at BT has staggered into work and turned something off and on again.

Still not working here over three different browsers. Although I can get it on my phone using RZ's 'turn the wifi off' tip above.

Can confirm that it's still working fine.  Must be an ISP-specific issue.

Curious, what sort of BB do you have from BT?
Is it their bog-standard one?
Or one of their fast/fibre optic ones?

DNS-related, presumably ?
