Track is up http://www.strava.com/activities/238065878

Now 121km down on the January MTS challenge, but long way to go yet.

I'm hoping and sure that Steve won't be worrying about this as the Strava January MTS challenge is just a sideshow to his longer term goal.

The current leader has stated his desire to ride at least 300km every day of January and Steve doesn't need to do this if he is working to his plan.

January MTS is absolutely  irrelevant to Steve -and  even if it is pretty warm down under - I think I would rather be trying to knock out long rides there every day - rather than here - so some geographical advantage for cycle dr.

From various texts and emails with HK and myself, Steve is happy with his progress to date (ahead of Tommy!) and satisfied that no big hassles have slowed him down yet.

I absolutely agree Steve shouldn't be giving any thought to the MTS standings. Doesn't make it any less exciting to watch it play out though. And as this thread is the historical reference for "on this day in 2015..." it seems worth mentioning where those standings were on this day, to place his progress in context.

By my reckoning he's now over 120 miles ahead of Tommy !
And still some way up on his "stretch target" of 182 miles per day average.
