11:8 Stephen Wraysford in Sebastian Faulks' "Birdsong" writes his diary in code. But I can't find any reference to Ordinal, numbers or otherwise.  Hmm.

Pingu says, how about Hen's Tooth by Greene King (boohiss!)?
Do not clench. It only makes it worse.

Yes, it is.  Another q in the same copy of G2 reveals that the blood capsule was bought in a costume shop in Clapham Junction, which is on Lavender Hill, and Langhorn Drive appears to be the address of Twickers.

I think section 6 may have a theme of Bread

6.1  Endrocrine glands are Sweetbreads
6.2  Bread for a hungry world  - a Christian organisation allows you to buy a 'family goat' for third world families
6.3  Is there somewhere below Ben Challum named bread in gaelic?
6.4  Bread of Heaven sung in Cardiff
6.6 Sounds like the arrangement of the Breadfruit plants on HMS Bounty
6.7 Ukraine is sometimes called the Breadbasket of Europe

The posthumous bit of 7.4 refers to Washington Irving pretending that his short stories were found in the hotel room of a dead guest 'Diedrich Knickerbocker'
