I think the weather will be a factor. Personally I don't mind cold, wet or windy. But if there is a chance of ice I will probably stay at home unless I can persuade myself that studded tyres will keep me safe. But would I really want to ride 70 miles on studded tyres?

The exception to the above is the Epiphany Do for the which I will turn out no matter what the weather is doing.

Good to see a few of you at the traffic lights in Witham High Street as you were setting off! I thought I might when I saw the time, ACME jerseys look really smart

Glad everyone enjoyed Saturday. I disappeared to a quiet corner with my fish n'chips n'beers for a conflab with Iddu about LEL [he'd been to see Gt Easton school, the new control venue] and later joined by both f & bhoot. So no chance to talk fixie trash...but I was on a twiddly 64", so found the ups all ridiculously easy, obviously...[apart from descending North Hill and trying to hang onto the orange tandem].

Any ACME riders keen to do a helpers' ride/route check on either of the two permitted weekends before the Stansted Airport Express on 3rd December? I can't ride then, but may get to ride during the week...

The RWGPS track Huggy prepared needs checking, as well as the route sheet.

I'm looking at Saturday 19th November (or may be the Sunday) as a likely Helpers' ride.
I should then be available for helper duties on the day too, my glamorous assistant said she may be able to assist with check-in too if paid in breakfast  ;D

I passed a couple of folks shortly after the Rodney coming down North Hill. I had sat behind them dragging my brake and decided things were going to get a bit hot. I suspect it was a lot uglier than Tomsk spinning his 64" gear but it actually felt more in control that ever before.

I might be around to do a route check on the 19th or I might just ride it this Sunday for fun

19th might work for me too as I have just been stood down from equestrian transport duties

If I am there I will just be riding it with no ECE, no brevet etc.

It was a great inaugural EMEWMWNS ride last night  ::-)

I left home a bit late so went straight to the pub.

At the pub I sampled Proper Job by St Austell, awarded it the Quaffer's Choice then left.

I was home by 10 (just as well as I had to get up at 03.45).

Well it certainly isn't a picture of my tattoo!  If is it the photo was taken without my permission and I will sue.  Do you know a good lawyer?

Seems a bit tame, I'm not sure if I'm going to turn up for the next ride.

Well there's no show without Punch.

Had you bothered to turn up last night it would have been wild.

Ah, I see from another thread that there is an article about the 3Rs.

No wonder Huggy is so excited

Perhaps they're saving Carlos for a front cover and centre spread in the LEL issue.

I think you'll find that Sister Carol is indeed pictured in his best active movement modelling pose leaving the Tall Green House Cafe (at least that's what it looks like to my eyes!).  Quite a small picture though so fully expect promotion to centrefold at some point.

I am now to be in That London on the 19th assisting the AUK IT crowd with the new look website for Organisers.  Subject to Home Office approval I'll plan for a ride round the route on the Sunday instead.
