Quite fun though. I was at least always in the right continent and usually even the correct country, though perhaps by luck as much as anything else.

Right country or adjacent one every time, & the right part (roughly) of two big countries. Which of Sweden or Finland for one was pure guess, but luckily I got it right.

It seems fond of certain countries: Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Russia, Norway. None so far in Africa, only one in Asia. (23,591  ;) - look around and there's often a clue that pins it down)

When not cheating I usually score around 10000. The only thing I got properly right was the one in Seoul. Today I used a bit more cheating and got up to 25875 points. You can actually move around, so you can go look for signs that give a clue, and then use teh google.
I really cannot keep unpaved roads in Alaska/Yukon apart from Scandinavian ones. Same goes for dusty straight roads... Arizona, South Africa, Western Australia...

edit: I mean 32388 of course. I think the maximum possible score is 32395.
