Broke my mudguard

I got fed up with my bagman support coming out, so took out the rails and swung the bag just from the QR bits. What an improvement, the bag didn't 'bounce, I could fill it with heavy stuff, it felt more stable when honking uphill, etc.

The bag was resting on the mudguard, but didn't seem to be bending it . . .

This morning I looked and found that the mudguard had a huge hole in it where it was bolted to the seatstay bridge.

I've been looking for an excuse to buy new mudguards - the current ones are humungous 75mm jobs for 2" tyres. As I only use 37mm tyres I figure I can drop to 45mm guards and have less wind resistance. Having trouble finding small guards tho' - most shops don't seem to drop below 55mm. Can anyone recommend a narrowish 26" guard?
