The only thing that will slightly bother Steve is the hands on St Mary the virgin’s clock will be one hour ahead of where they were this week.

Flat roads, hardly a breath of wind. Can't beat it. ( Except downhill all the way )

Tarzan's already had this clock-changing business and it doesn't seem to have slowed him down much.

Would be good if he could - the next couple of days are going to be rough, weatherwise.

Yes, he'll ignore it I expect. Still there's only 23hrs in the day on Sunday, so one hour fewer for something, i.e. sleep, eating, cycling.

There's only one hour fewer in Sunday according to the clock - i.e. if he starts on Monday at the old times of up at 04:00, out at 5:xx.  If he just keeps his own schedule, starting, he can "borrow" that hour from Monday by waking at 05:00, out at 06:xx.  No hour lost.
You are in a maze of twisty flat droves, all alike.

Indeed. He has, typically, been starting around 5 am. That's just under an hour before sunrise now. All he has to do is keep on starting an hour before sunrise and the clock doesn't enter into it, other than perhaps opening/closing times of breakfast venues. Jaded's point about school run/rush hour times is relevant as normally Steve has melted into the countryside by that time* and can cycle on roads where that will make little difference. However, if he keeps on gearing his starting time to a little before sunrise I don't think they will affect him at all. Once Steve gets some warmer weather then I think his mornings, what with the dawn chorus, will be an absolute delight.

*There is a very special South Essex rush hour which is geared to the charging times for the Dartford Bridge/Tunnel. It's free before 6 am and once, when I was travelling at stupid o'clock to my daughter's place, I was very surprised by 5.30 am tailbacks on the A13. That is what I attributed them to. Steve, of course, will be steering well clear of such nonsense.

Round these parts there are plenty of country roads that are worth avoiding at school run times. Anywhere near a village school (and there are lots round here) gets full of 4x4s hooning along to get Peregrine and Samantha to school on time and then Mummy off to her work. They take no prisoners.
There's no vibrations, but wait.

I suspect he's going to be up around the 230-240 miles mark today. Awesome.

Thanks for the photos - they are appreciated.

Imagine how much faster (speed = miles) he will go when the layers come off.

17:55, 195 Google miles down.

Will Steve do the 15 miles back to MK for an early stop or bounce off MK for a sneaky Gibbon?

Doh, I was looking at the tracker and wondering why he wasn't heading towards Manningtree.  Then realised I was looking at the wrong day on his calendar.  Thank Jupiter I am in no way responsible for any aspect of Steve's record attempt

Studying his calendar, Steve is due to be hosted in East Sussex in April.  I may try to indulge in a bit of Steve spotting and cheering along, even if it is on a workday.

203 at 6.32. He's got about another 10 miles to do for a straight ride home, but let's hope he's got the energy for a Gibbon.

A Sneaky Ivan yet again - heading away from MK, must be feeling OK.

Saw him this afternoon and he loooked great, super smooth riding, and big smile as I hollered out a few superlative congratulations at him.

GO STEVE, YOU CHAMP!
