Thank The Lord for track pumps
« on: 11 June, 2008, 05:47:52 pm »
Since last Saturday I have for a variety of reasons found it necessary to inflate both tyres on all the bikes in the garage culminating this afternoon in doing those on Marj's mtb.
I had forgotten how much pumping is required for those 2" knobblies :o

An old Torygraph article on the Dun Run claimed one old guy was carrying a foot pump.

Either I've seen you or you're not the only person to do this!

I do hate using my mini pump, even though the pocket rocket is reasonably good as minis go. Even with track pumps I have to put all my weight on them towards the end (no strength in my weedy arms).

The happy medium is a good quality frame pump such as the Zefal HPX.

They are also pretty good for launching bottle rockets, as we demonstrated again with the Scouts last night ;D
