Long story, originally named for the TSR2 aeroplane. Afterwards explained as “Touring, Shopping, Riding” or some such.
Wheel meet again, don't know where, don't know when...

Well, that will help me remember but I think I'll carry on calling it Wilson. Thank you for your help again.

Tactical, Strike & Reconnaissance.

That's not going to help with remembering the order. Why would you do recon after striking?  :)

Not to be confused with the GT RTS mountain bike (Response Tuned Suspension) which was going to be the TRS (Tuned Response Suspension) until they found out about the Tandy TRS-80 Color Computer.  They either thought the association was uncool or Radio Shack threatened to sue, accounts vary.

So maybe the TSR is Tuned Suspension Response  ;D

I was hoping for an easy way to remember the order but it's a bit of a minefield.
I'll have to stop using the initials TSRA8 - although I quite like the anagram 8 Rats or 'ate rats with my accent - and use his baptismal name.

Touring, Sportive and Rambling is another version I've heard, but as the TSR pre-dates the whole Sportive phenomena, and I can't see how you ramble on a bike, so I'm not convinced. I've heard the plane version before, but I can't find my Tony Hadland book on Moultons, which I'm sure would confirm. Personally, I like 'Temporary Speed Restriction'.

The answer to the TSR Question is to read it backwards and it is in alphabetical order.

I think the Hadland book only goes up to the APB, which the TSR is a development of.

Ah Christopher, young chap, do you refer to lightning that never strikes twice in the same place?
Although having seen your disheveled self very early on several otherwise beautiful mornings I can only assume that old adage is untrue  ;D

Why would you do recon after striking?  :)

It's a policy that has served the US military well for many years.  ;)

I was taught no strike before recon but there you go that was back in the day.

Terminate and Stay Resident was a thing back in the MS-DOS days. Rather good fun to write.

Wiki mentions that TSR I and TSR II were prototypes of the Fairey Swordfish torpedo bomber, so if you run across the Bismarck on your way down the High St. you can throw your bottle at it.

I'm old enough to remember the TRS 2 debacle of 1965 and the other subsequent defence cuts. The RAF didn't get their jet and we soldiers didn't get a pay rise iirc.
Somewhat later than Fairey Swordfish :)
