Followed closely by Andre Griepel at the foot of the Kemmelberg.



It was a cold, cold day! He didn't win but 3 days later the peleton went up the Kemmelberg again on stage 2 of De Panne and he did win the final sprint.


Cav protected by his team mates including Tom Boonen.

For those that dont know Kemmel is at the top of a very lumpy bit in normally flat flemish flanders.
